Selflessness and Determination

our beginnings

Our journey began with a profound realization. As a Veteran and the CEO of the HALO Foundation, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by military service members and their spouses during the transition to civilian life. The uniform they wore with pride and honor, a symbol of their dedication and sacrifice, often became a barrier in the civilian job market. Many organizations, unaware of the distinct skills and leadership qualities honed in military service, tended to lump all branches together, overlooking the unique contributions each individual could bring.

Driven by a deep-seated belief in the exceptional capabilities of Veterans, I established the HALO Foundation to bridge this gap. Our mission is to illuminate the diverse talents and unwavering work ethic of military personnel and their families, ensuring they receive the recognition and opportunities they deserve. This is why we created the America's Leadership Initiative.

At HALO, we understand that the qualities instilled in service members—leadership, discipline, resilience, and an unparalleled work ethic—are invaluable assets to any organization. We are committed to transforming the narrative around Veterans in the workforce, highlighting their ability to lead, innovate, and excel in various roles across industries.

Through comprehensive programs, tailored support, and strategic partnerships with forward-thinking companies, the HALO Foundation empowers Veterans and their families to navigate "the transition" with confidence. We provide resources for skill development, career counseling, and networking opportunities, ensuring that each individual’s journey from military to civilian life is met with respect and recognition. We understand that the Department of Veterans Affairs can only do so much, and we also know first-hand that military Transition Assistance Programs (TAP) lack the external understanding of the applicant process.

Our foundation is more than just an organization; it is a movement. A movement to honor the service of our Veterans by acknowledging their true potential and integrating their strengths into the fabric of our society. We believe that by embracing the unique experiences and skills of military personnel, we can create a culture of merit driven recruitment and hiring while also backfilling identified gaps in the skilled trades.

Join us at the HALO Foundation as we continue to champion the cause of our Veterans and their families. Together, we can create a future where their contributions are not only acknowledged but celebrated, paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow.

AMERICA'S LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE

America's Leadership Initiative

At the HALO Foundation, we believe in the extraordinary potential of our Veterans and their families. To further our mission of supporting their successful transition into civilian life, we are proud to introduce "America's Leadership Initiative." This ambitious program aims to provide comprehensive support for the pre-transition selection, assessment, and placement of Veterans and their spouses into meaningful careers.

Our Goal:

By 2026, America's Leadership Initiative seeks to place:

  • 100 skilled trades jobs (ready to hire)

  • 100 trades project management jobs

  • 100 direct placement jobs

  • 100 spouses in diverse roles

  • 100 students in trades specific training w/direct hire pipeline

Program Overview:

1. Pre-Transition Selection and Assessment:

Our initiative begins with a thorough understanding of each Veteran's and spouse's unique skills, experiences, and career aspirations. Through personalized assessments and one-on-one consultations, we help them identify their strengths and align them with potential career paths in skilled trades, project management, direct placement opportunities, and other advanced roles.

2. Skill Development and Training:

Recognizing the diverse skill sets that Veterans and their spouses bring, we offer tailored training programs designed to bridge any gaps and enhance their qualifications for civilian roles. Our partnerships with industry leaders and educational institutions ensure that they receive the most relevant and up-to-date training, preparing them for the demands of their chosen careers.

We will not allow our people to settle for low wage, menial jobs out of the misperception they wore a uniform. Our candidates/spouses will be pre-vetted and provide above-average qualifications. No "window lickers" or "knuckle draggers" here...nothing but the quality.

3. Job Placement and Support:

Our dedicated team works tirelessly to connect Veterans and their spouses with employers who value their unique attributes. We facilitate introductions, assist with applications, and provide ongoing support to ensure a smooth transition into the workforce. Our goal is to not only secure job placements but also to foster long-term career growth and satisfaction.

4. Trades Project Management Jobs:

In addition to skilled trades, America's Leadership Initiative places a strong emphasis on project management within the trades sector. We recognize the leadership and organizational skills that Veterans possess, making them ideal candidates for overseeing projects, managing teams, advising OSHA related safety practices, etc. Our program equips them with the necessary certifications and practical experience to excel in these roles.

5. Direct Placement Jobs:

For Veterans seeking immediate employment opportunities, we offer direct placement services. By leveraging our extensive network of employer partners, we match Veterans with roles that align with their skills and career goals. This ensures a swift and seamless transition into the workforce. Though service members wore a uniform, doesn't mean they should be relegated to something less. They have an incredible skills set, experience, and education, making them a top candidate in any organization.

6. Spouse Placement:

Understanding that military spouses also face unique challenges in the job market, we are dedicated to supporting their career aspirations. Our initiative includes targeted programs to help spouses develop their skills, connect with potential employers, and find fulfilling roles that accommodate their unique circumstances and talents. Many of these men and women have put aside professional careers to raise a family, manage a household (individually), and volunteer to help their spouses units. These are incredibly dedicated and selfless people...

Commitment to Excellence:

America's Leadership Initiative is built on a foundation of respect, recognition, and relentless dedication to the success of our Veterans and their families. We understand the unique challenges they face and are committed to providing the support and resources needed to overcome these obstacles. Our initiative is not just about job placement; it's about empowering Veterans and their spouses to lead fulfilling and impactful civilian lives.

Join Us:

As we embark on this transformative journey, we invite employers, educational institutions, and community partners to join us in supporting America's Leadership Initiative. Together, we can create a future where Veterans and their spouses are not only welcomed but celebrated for their contributions, skills, and leadership.

By 2026, America's Leadership Initiative aims to have placed 400 individuals into meaningful careers across skilled trades, trades project management, direct placement roles, and various opportunities for spouses. We also have the focus of onboarding our first 100 candidates into the America's Leadership Initiative - Training Program. Through this initiative, we are not just changing lives; we are building a stronger, more inclusive workforce that values the exceptional qualities of our Veterans and their families.
